See & Explore

Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium. Routinely ranked among the best zoos in the world. Don't miss the indoor Lied Jungle, the Desert Dome, and the Scott Aquarium. Plan on a half-day at least — it's enormous and worth it.

The Old Market. Omaha's historic warehouse district: brick streets, horse-drawn carriages, galleries, coffee shops, and some of the city's best restaurants packed into a few walkable blocks.

Joslyn Art Museum. Reopened in 2024 with a striking new 42,000-square-foot wing — and admission is free, always. Worth an afternoon for the collection and the sculpture gardens.

Lauritzen Gardens. A 100-acre botanical garden and arboretum near the river — gorgeous in every season, with a model railroad garden the kids love.

The Durham Museum. Set inside the beautifully restored Union Station, this is the place for Omaha and Western history, with traveling Smithsonian exhibits.

Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge. Walk (or jog) across the Missouri River into Iowa — stand in two states at once. Great riverfront views and an easy stroll from downtown.

Sports & Big Events

The College World Series. Every June (June 12–22 in 2026), the NCAA Men's College World Series takes over Charles Schwab Field downtown. It's one of the biggest events of the year — book your stay early, it fills up fast.

Charles Schwab Field & CHI Health Center. Beyond the CWS, the ballpark and the adjacent arena host concerts, conventions, and big-name shows year-round.

Omaha Storm Chasers. Catch affordable, family-friendly Triple-A baseball at Werner Park in nearby Papillion all summer long.
